Dr. J completed her doctoral degree in 2025, after completing her scholarly work on Black American
women's mental health and professional and domestic labor. Now specializing in marginalized mental health with a focus on the exploitation of labor in the United States, Dr. J's work explores the management of mental health while navigating modern Western systems, structures and society. Her methods aim to deconstruct schemas and belief systems rooted in hyper productivity, individualism, perfectionism and idealistic success among other narrative scripts that undermine wellness and fulfillment.
